MAC Named Tennis Industry’s 2018 “Builder/Contractor of the Year”

McConnell & Associates (MAC) is the 2018 “Builder/Contractor of the Year.” The news was published in Tennis Industry magazine’s January 2019 edition. The annual “Champions of Tennis Awards” is in its 18th year of recognizing organizations and individuals who go above and beyond in making a difference in the tennis industry. The Awards honor those who “champion” tennis and are committed to moving the game forward.

The Sports division of McConnell and Associates, MAC Sports, is based in Kansas City and has an office in St. Louis. Our multi-generation family-owned company has more than 50 years of experience in court building and surface construction. You’ll see our work at some of the top regional tennis courts, including Washington University, Dwight Davis Tennis Center, The Plaza Tennis Center, and the award-winning facilities at Tower Court Tennis Courts, Chicken N’ Pickle, Kearney School District Tennis Complex and Olathe School District’s College Boulevard Activity Center. A feature article in Tennis Industry magazine notes, “…whether installing or upgrading a tennis court, people want to work with a company they can trust.” We’ve been earning customers’ trust since 1965. For us, trust means always trying to build projects right and standing behind them. In fact, that’s the philosophy behind our core values, which are an advantage for our customers that delivers value.

We’ve been an active member of the American Sports Builders Association (ASBA) for nearly three decades. Approximately 70 individuals in the entire U.S. have achieved Certified Court Builders status through the ASBA’s certified builders programs, and three of them are with MAC; J.R. Rockenfield, Mike Mehaffey (Kansas City) and Justan Vaughn (St. Louis).
