McConnell & Associates partnered with Drexel R-IV School District in Drexel, MO to design and deliver upgrades across the pavilion, playground, and surrounding pavement areas through the TIPS cooperative purchasing program. Starting with concept development, we worked onsite with the district to solve complex pavilion design challenges and finalize a plan.
In the field, we corrected failing sub-grade, then milled and overlaid asphalt to restore smooth, durable driving and play surfaces. We performed crack sealing and applied a protective sealcoat to extend pavement life, followed by precise line striping and pavement markings to meet safety requirements.
Around campus, deteriorated concrete was removed and replaced with new concrete paving. The basketball area received a new sport surface with updated goals and court amenities, while new fencing and coordinated hardscaping defined edges, guided movement, and created clean, functional transitions.
Despite scope refinements, utility relocations, and unforeseen sub-grade conditions, these issues were resolved quickly and effectively to deliver a quality result prior to the first day of school.
