Equipment Operators (KC & St. Louis)

Fulfills Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO) Program Internship Requirement

Join the crew and get hands-on experience with construction equipment! Our Asphalt Crew in KC operates skid steers, asphalt pavers, and asphalt rollers. Our Dirt Crews in Kansas City operate CAT equipment that is cycled out with new equipment every 3 to 4 years.  Those crews operate various sizes of skid steers, excavators, and rollers on a daily basis.  As we continue to grow our dirt department it is becoming more and more common for these crews to operate dozers, high lifts, and front-end loaders on a more frequent basis. We also have opportunities on our new Dirt/Specialty Crew in St. Louis.

If you are in the one-year HEO certificate program: Our equipment operator positions fulfill the four-week internship requirement. However, we hire our HEO interns on as full-time employees from Day One. There’s no need to wait until after an internship is completed to start a full-time career.

If you are in the two-year Civil Construction associates degree program: We can consider you for an hourly equipment operator position for the summer with the intention of bringing you back for a full-time equipment operator position after graduation. Or, you can be considered for our Civil Construction Summer Internships (see below).

Summer Laborer Positions

Our St. Louis office always has five to 10 summer laborer positions that offer lots of overtime and big paychecks. For anyone interested in earning money to help pay for school and/or to have extra spending money, this can be a great opportunity.
